Florida State lands five-star defensive end Joshua Kaindoh

One of the top defensive ends in the country has decided to join Florida State, and recruiting coordinator Tim Brewster is fired up.

Five-star prospect Joshua Kaindoh, who is from Baltimore but finished his high school career at Bradenton IMG Academy, announced his commitment to FSU on Friday night.

"Happy to announce my commitment to Florida State University and that I'll be enrolling early for the Spring semester!!!" Kaindoh wrote in a post on his Twitter account.

Added Brewster shortly after the announcement: "Bang!!!!! What a night to be a Florida State Seminole!! Nothing but the truth!! (Hashtag)FutureSoLit!"

Kaindoh (6-6, 235), the second-best weakside defensive end player according to 247Sports, picked FSU over Penn State, Alabama and Georgia among at least 30 reported scholarship offers.

The commitment secures some much-needed depth at the position for the Seminoles' future.

With senior DeMarcus Walker entering the NFL draft after the season, Kaindoh will join players like Josh Sweat, Brian Burns, Jacob Pugh and Janarius Robinson in the rotation.

Kaindoh is also the second player from IMG Academy the Seminoles have landed in two weeks, with three-star tight end Tre' McKitty also in FSU's 2017 recruiting class.

Kaindoh's commitment lifts FSU into the Top 10 of 247Sports' team composite rankings, knocking Tennessee out of the mix.

FSU is ranked seventh nationally, and first in the Atlantic Coast Conference ahead of No. 12 Clemson.

Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia, Michigan, LSU, Oklahoma, FSU, Texas A&M, Notre Dame and Auburn make up the Top 10.
