Florida State football coach Willie Taggart believes Fair Pay to Play Act could be ‘win-win’ for student athletes

LeBron James’ support of the California Fair Pay to Play Act passed by the California Assembly by 72-0 vote a few weeks ago has been contrasted by predictable complaints from those entrenched in the college sports establishment. That was until Florida State head football coach Willie Taggart was asked about his thoughts on the bill, which be believes can be a “win-win” for student athletes.

Taggart gave his answer to the media in Tallahassee on Monday, suggesting that his only change would be to make sure the players get the money after graduation, saying he believes players need the money more once they leave the university’s support system.

LeBron has been vocal about pointing out the hypocrisy of college sports for most of his pro career. That passion for seeing college students get treated better was demonstrated best in the documentary he produced for HBO, “Student Athlete.”
