One of the most popular projections for the Detroit Lions pick at No. 8 overall is making his first visit to Allen Park today. Florida State EDGE Brian Burns is at the Lions’ headquarters for an official visit with GM Bob Quinn, head coach Matt Patricia and the Lions.
Burns has gained considerable momentum among fans and media alike after a great combine performance. The Seminole positively answered questions about his weight (or lack thereof) and his athletic ability after adding about 15 pounds of muscle since the beginning of the college season.
Burns recorded 10 sacks among his 15.5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage last fall while playing almost exclusively as a rush OLB. He said at the combine he played in the 235-238 pound range but is now up over 250 thanks to a better diet and more focused weight regimen.
