A loss to Alabama and the season-ending injury to quarterback Deondre Francois may have caused Florida State to drop in college football polls.
The Seminoles fell to No. 10 in Week 2 of the Associated Press Top 25 poll, falling seven spots in the rankings, after their 24-7 loss in the season opener in Atlanta.
Alabama remained at No. 1 followed by Ohio State, Clemson, Penn State and Oklahoma in the Top 5. USC, Washington, Michigan and Wisconsin round out the Top 10.
The Seminoles hope to win their first game of the season behind backup quarterback James Blackman against Louisiana-Monroe in Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday at 7 p.m.
