Florida's coronavirus cases are exploding again, with 8,942 more cases since the day before, according to data released Friday.
It's a new daily record, easily breaking the previous high mark of 5,511 cases two days ago. It's been a relentless, monthlong surge of COVID-19 infections.
The Florida Department of Health reported that 122,960 people have tested positive since the pandemic began.
At least 3,464 people have died from the new coronavirus in Florida, 41 more than on Thursday, the state reported.
