Florida police arrest man in Operation Miller High Life pot investigation

Aug. 16--To take down Glenn David Miller, who deputies suspected was running a marijuana trafficking ring, law enforcement in Volusia County in Florida launched an investigation they called Operation Miller High Life.

The operation, which began in April 2014, ended in July with the arrests of Miller and five others, Volusia County Sheriff's spokesman Andrew Gant said.

On Friday, deputies presented the evidence they seized over the last year: 237 pounds of marijuana, a 2012 Fisker Karma luxury car, and $539,000 in cash, Gant said.

"Additional arrests are anticipated in the near future," Gant said.

According to Gant, Miller ran the trafficking business out of Dolla Auto Detailing, a business on Carswell Avenue in Holly Hill.

He had been active since about 2010, sometimes selling "several hundred pounds" of the drug every month, Gant said.

In February, deputies found cardboard boxes full of more than 130 pounds of marijuana in Miller's trunk and his storage unit, court records show.

He was arrested in late July.

Miller, 37, could face charges including trafficking more than 25 pounds of cannabis, selling, and conspiring to sell cannabis.

Michael Brown, 42, Tryvone Laws, and Ikia Peavy, both 25, face charges of conspiracy to sell marijuana. Brown and Peavy were arrested July 22, and Laws July 25.

Clinton Pinnock, 51, was arrested July 22 and faces charges of trafficking in more than 25 pounds or 300 plants.

Fernando Vickers, 35, was arrested July 30 and faces charges of conspiracy to traffic in cannabis.
