Florida OT Jawaan Taylor to miss NFL Combine drills due to injury

Former Florida offensive tackle and projected first-round selection Jawaan Taylor will not participate in the NFL Combine drills this week in Indianapolis.

NFL teams received the notice Monday morning. Taylor is suffering from a hamstring injury and was advised by Dr. James Andrews to not perform activities that involve running or jumping, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The injury appears to be minor, which shouldn’t have much impact on Taylor’s draft stock. His tape appears to display a player that should get top-15 consideration, and many NFL decision makers will most likely be able to see him perform these drills at Florida’s Pro Day.

Taylor, who stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 334 pounds, spent three seasons at Florida, primarily playing tackle. Taylor led the unit that only allowed 18 sacks over the course of the 2018 season, which was good for No. 20 in the country and third in SEC.
