Florida man pays $300 for Girl Scout cookies and took one box

ORLANDO, Fla. _ A Deltona Girl Scout troop was having a bad day.

Then Douglas Ford made it a lot brighter _ and not only for the girls.

The scouts were selling Girl Scout cookies Saturday, and let's just say the boxes of goodies were not moving like they hoped, according to WOFL-Ch. 35. Accompanied by his dog, Jazz, Ford saw the girls, reached into his wallet and pulled out $300, the TV station said.

He took one box and told the girls to donate the rest, troop leader Trina Grant told WOFL. The girls gave the cookies to the Florida United Methodist Children's Home in Deltona.

"It was great for my kids to see there was someone willing to do something so selfless, so I hope my kids can do something like that in their life," Grant told the Central Florida Fox affiliate.
