Florida LB Vosean Joseph visiting Rams ahead of draft

The Los Angeles Rams opened up a hole at inside linebacker for the second straight year by releasing Mark Barron this offseason. The move came a year after the team traded away Alec Ogletree, which paved the way for Cory Littleton to become a starter.

The Rams have an in-house candidate to replace Barron in Micah Kiser, but they could also use the draft as a path to add some talent. Florida linebacker Vosean Joseph is one option in a relatively weak class at the position and he’s visiting the Rams on Wednesday.

He shared a photo of the team’s facility on Instagram, which was recognized by Billy Marshall of Cat Scratch Reader.

Joseph is a smaller linebacker at 6-foot-1, 230 pounds, which is about 15 pounds heavier than Barron. He fits best as a weakside defender, which is currently where Littleton plays. Joseph does have good speed, though, which makes him an enticing prospect for the Rams.

He has to improve as a tackler, but that’s an aspect of his game that can improve with time in the NFL. As a mid-round prospect, he’s worth a look for the Rams, even if he begins his career as a backup to Littleton and Kiser.
