Florida jumps to just outside Kirk Herbstreit’s top four

The Georgia Bulldogs beat the Kentucky Wildcats 21-0 last week and had a bye week before facing the Florida Gators this Saturday. UGA has not impressed Kirk Herbstreit and the media to start their season. The Dawgs still have everything to play for and can make the College Football Playoff if they win out.

The Gators had a bye as well this week. Before the bye they defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks 38-27. The first College Football Playoff rankings come out Tuesday after Georgia-Florida. The winner should have a high ranking and the loser will realistically be eliminated from the Playoff.

With a Missouri out of the picture, it’s looking like the Georgia-Florida game will decide who represents the SEC East in Atlanta. The Gators have been trending up in recent weeks while the Bulldogs have struggled offensively. The Dawgs must tune up their passing game before facing Kyle Trask and company.

The college football landscape changed again when Oklahoma fell at Kansas State. There’s a lot of football left to be played, but it is looking like Penn State at Ohio State, LSU at Alabama, and Georgia versus Florida will be the regular season games that have the largest impact on the playoff picture.

There is a lot to consider when thinking of the four best teams in college football.  Here’s Kirk Herbstreit’s top four:
