The Florida Gators' men's basketball team has paused team activities for a week because of positive coronavirus tests and related contact tracing, the program announced Sunday.

UF was previously scheduled to open Wednesday against UMass Lowell in Connecticut and play Virginia on Wednesday. Those games will not happen.

The Gators' next scheduled contest is at Oklahoma on Dec. 2. UF has been picked by the media to finish fourth in the SEC, behind Tennessee, Kentucky and LSU.

Other programs in other sports across the country have announced similar measures because of positive tests and quarantining during the pandemic. The Gators' football team shut down for two weeks last month following an outbreak.
