Florida drug dealer arrested after calling police to report his cocaine stolen

A self-proclaimed drug dealer has been arrested after he called police to say his cocaine stash had been stolen in a burglary.

David Blackmon, 35, reportedly told officers a thief had broken into his car and stolen not only $50 (£39) in cash, but also a quarter of an ounce of cocaine.

He described himself as a drug dealer, police said in a Facebook post, and officers from Okaloosa County sheriff's office, in Florida, found another bag of cocaine and a rock of crack inside his car.

They also found a crack pipe, the post said.

According to one officer's report, "Blackmon asked [that] if I knew the cocaine was there, why did I let him keep talking".

Following his arrest on Sunday, Mr Blackmon, of Carson Drive, Walton Beach, was charged with resisting arrest without violence, cocaine possession and possessing drug paraphernalia.

He is awaiting a court hearing, according to the website of the Okaloosa Department of Corrections.
