Florian Neuhaus value change could give Liverpool transfer boost

With Georginio Wijnaldum departing for PSG upon the expiry of his contract, the Reds have seen a plethora of midfielders across Europe tipped to fill the void left by the Dutchman.

A number of those linked with a move to Anfield include Leicester's Youri Tielemans and Brighton's Yves Bissouma.

Another name is Florian Neuhaus.

Neuhaus is currently on international duty with Germany at Euro 2020 with the Germans looking to secure knockout qualification with a win over Hungary on Wednesday.

France, Portugal and Hungary are all looking to progress as the Group of Death goes down to the wire.

Whoever finishes as runners up in Group F will set up a clash with Jordan Henderson and England in the Round of 16 at Wembley next week.

Jurgen Klopp has already bolstered his squad this summer with the addition of Ibrahima Konate from RB Leipzig for £36m.

It remains to be seen if the Reds will do any more business but one midfielder linked with a move has seen his market valuation taken a slight dip falling from £34m to £31.5m, according to Transfermarkt.

He has yet to feature in Germany's opening two European Championship matches and his last appearance for the national team came in their final warmup match against Denmark in which he opened the scoring.

Last month saw the expiry of his £34.25m release clause as Jurgen Klopp continues to keep his options open in the window.

Borussia Moenchengladbach will be holding on to hope for a higher fee as his stock progressively rose since his move from Fortuna Dusseldorf.

The ECHO understands that Liverpool have cooled their interest in Germany international Florian Neuhaus - continuing to explore the possibility of signing a midfielder but will still monitor the progress of the German during the Euros.
