Florian Kamberi transfer latest as Hibs star subject of second Lech Poznan bid

Lech Poznan are set to make a second bid for Hibs' Albanian new boy Florian Kamberi.

The Polish side have already made one offer for the striker that fell well short of the Easter Road side’s valuation.

Lech wanted to take the player on loan with a view to buy in the summer but the final transfer fee was well below their valuation.

It is believed that Kamberi has a release clause in his contract but to be triggered has to be a fee in excess of £2 million.

The Poles will go back with a new proposal but it won’t be near that release clause and it is unlikely to be accepted by Hibs.

Basel were interested in Kamberi in the last window along with English side Brentford.

There are several English, German and American sides all watching his situation closely as he featured for Jack Ross' side in a 2-2 Scottish Cup draw with Dundee United on Sunday.

Kamberi has, however, made one move this week.

The Swiss-born striker now has his paperwork in place to switch his international allegiances to Albania.

Kamberi has represented Switzerland up to under-21 level but has decided to switch to Albania Football Federation.

The frontman joined up with Edi Reja’s international squad for their recent friendlies with France and Andorra but couldn’t play because there was a delay in his international documents being transferred across, while the player also picked up an injury.

Switzerland were trying to convince the 24-year-old to remain with his homeland but he believes his international ambitions will be better served with Albania.

The Albanian Football Federation and Kamberi both received paperwork that the player can now play for them.

Kamberi, if fit, could make his Albania debut in March’s friendly at home to Slovenia.
