Florian Kamberi transfer latest as Hibs 'open talks with club' keen to land Rangers loan star

Hibs striker Florian Kamberi is expected to leave Easter Road this summer - according to a report.

The Swiss star has two years remaining on his deal but the Edinburgh Evening News claim talks are underway with an unnamed club over a potential exit that could be paid in instalments.

Kamberi joined Rangers on loan in January and impressed in the Europa League before the game was forced into lockdown amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 25-year-old irked the Hibs faithful after claiming his move to Ibrox was his “dream”, as Greg Docherty headed in the opposite direction.

Rangers have been active in the transfer market and have already completed the signing of Ianis Hagi from Genk.

Ibrox sporting director Ross Wilson admits his side are doing their due diligence as they look to make an impact in the market.

He said: "We are working on other things, we are keeping a close eye on the market.

"The market is very unpredictable, for a start the transfer window isn't even open yet, it will open slightly later as we all know, it will probably extend slightly later as well but it can't go any longer than 12 weeks is my understanding from FIFA.

"But all the dates will change, we can see that the marketplace has changed, we had a deal in place with Genk for Ianis that changed because the world changed and everybody recognised that.

"What our job here is to make sure that we totally understand the market, we totally understand where all the opportunities are, but equally that we've got a clear plan at Rangers that we stick to and that's the plan that Steven and I talk about every day."
