Florian Kamberi set for Aberdeen transfer as Derek McInnes closes in on loan for former Hibs and Rangers striker

Aberdeen are closing in on a loan deal for Florian Kamberi.

The Dons are also set to seal a similar move for Scotland under-21 striker Fraser Hornby from Stade de Reims before tonight's deadline.

Derek McInnes now wants to team Hornby up with the former Hibernian striker.

Kamberi, who was on-loan at Rangers last season, is set to move from Swiss side St Gallen for the rest of the season.

The Albanian international has been given the go-ahead to return by the Scottish Football Association who confirmed he met the work permit criteria this morning.

The 25-year-old is still in Switzerland and once the deal is signed off and his entry visa is sorted then he can travel to Scotland.

St Gallen bought Kamberi from Hibs last year.

Kamberi, ironically, could make his Aberdeen debut at former club Hibs this weekend.

Hornby is in Aberdeen just now to finalise his switch.

Derek McInnes moved to strengthen his frontline after he sold Sam Cosgrove to Birmingham City for £2 million at the weekend.
