Florian Kamberi's post-Hibs Switzerland stay set to last just six months with striker in loan talks

Florian Kamberi’s return to Switzerland is set to last just six months with the former Hibs striker in talks over a move.

Kamberi effectively burnt his bridges at Easter Road after joining Rangers on loan in January 2020 then describing it as a dream and angling for a permanent switch to Ibrox.

However, that didn’t happen and he returned to pre-season training with Jack Ross’ squad.

St Gallen then gave him an out by offering him a three-year deal in August and the former Grasshoppers front man was only too happy to return to his homeland.

However, Kamberi has only made nine appearances in total for Espen  without scoring a goal.

And the 25-year-old is now in talks with German side Bochum regarding a loan move, according to Sky Sports.

There has been interest in Kamberi from the English Championship, as there was when he was at Hibs.

FC Basel also scouted the player during his time in Leith and were linked with a £2million move.

But it now looks likely that he’ll be heading to Bundesliga 2, at least initially on loan.
