Florian Kamberi Rangers transfer approach as Ibrox club rival Lech Poznan for Hibs striker

Rangers have made an approach for Hibs striker Florian Kamberi, as they look for cover for the injured Jermain Defoe.

Defoe pulled up injured in last night's win over Ross County, forcing the Ibrox club to look to the transfer market.

Record Sport understands that Rangers have approached Hibs to discuss a loan deal with option to buy for the 24-year-old, who has eight goals in all competitions so far this season.

But they'll face competition from Polish side Lech Poznan who have already had two bids rejected for the Swiss.

It's understood Poznan are still in talks to try and get a deal done before Friday's transfer deadline.

Kamberi is under contract until 2021, and has has a release clause - but for that to be triggered the fee has to be in excess of £2million.

Meanwhile, Rangers are closing in on the signing of Romanian attacking midfielder Ianis Hagi, son of the legendary Gheorghe.

The 21-year-old arrived in Scotland this afternoon to complete a loan move from Genk, which will also include an option to buy.
