Florian Kamberi Rangers latest as Ibrox club wait for Europa League clarification

Rangers hope to soon get clarification over the remainder of their Europa League campaign – with the loan deal of Flo Kamberi set to expire next month.

Genk confirmed Rangers' deal to sign Ianis Hagi on Tuesday night and he'll be available for the Ibrox side when the Europa League retuns.

There's doubts over Kamberi though with his deal is up next month and Rangers are yet to make a decision on whether to sign him permanently.

If Rangers were to sign the striker permanently then they would need to agree a fee with Hibs to buy him or extend his loan, even if it was just in the short-term to cover the completion of their 2019-20 Europa League run.

The Ibrox giants are currently waiting to see how UEFA will complete the 2019-20 Champions and Europa League competitions.

Rangers are currently 3-1 down after their home leg against Bayer Leverkusen but still have to play the outstanding second tie of their last 16 clash.

Steven Gerrard’s side are waiting for guidance from UEFA about their plans over the outstanding game and the rest of the competition.

It is likely the transfer window will be relaxed because of the COVID-19 pandemic but nothing has been clarified yet.

The problem is that Rangers have registered their squad for that game but some of those players have already been released.

Kamberi played in the first game against Leverkusen.

Andy Halliday and Wes Foderingham were also in the Rangers’ Europa League squad but both have since been told they will be leaving when their contracts expire.

Sheyvi Ojo is also on loan from Liverpool and he has already hinted of his farewell on social media.

The Ibrox side don’t know if they can replace them or would have to take younger players up from their B list.
