Florian Kamberi and the 'vigorous' Aberdeen transfer chase as Derek McInnes reveals he went all-in to sign striker

Derek McInnes revealed Aberdeen went all-in to get Florian Kamberi as the striker sealed a loan switch to Pittodrie.

The former Hibs and Rangers star completed a trio of deadline day arrivals as he joined Fraser Hornby and Callum Hendry in the north east as McInnes tooled up for the fight for second.

Kamberi signs from Swiss side St Gallen on a deal until the end of the season.

McInnes has now revamped his attacking options following the departure of Sam Cosgrove and Curtis Main, plus Bruce Anderson's loan move to Hamilton.

The Aberdeen boss admits the club were "vigorous" in their pursuit of the 25-year-old and hopes his Premiership experience ensures he hits the ground running.

“I’m pleased again to further enhance our attacking options," McInnes said.

"Florian has shown his quality in our league over a period of time and again, once we knew there was an opportunity to get him, we pursued it quite vigorously.

“He seems enthusiastic to be here.

"He has got undoubted quality, experience in this league and we’re hopeful that will help him settle quicker.

"I’m positive he can have an impact between now and the end of the season.”

Young striker Michael Ruth has also been recalled from his loan spell at Arbroath.
