Florentino Perez has ‘destroyed Spain and the best Real Madrid team in history’, says former Barcelona player

Former Barcelona and Celtic midfielder Marc Crosas praised his former club for their 5-1 Clasico win on Sunday in the absence of Lionel Messi, but also pointed the finger at Real Madrid president Florentino Perez for Los Blancos’ woes.

Crosas, who made only a handful of appearances at Barcelona and now works as an analyst for Univision, took to Twitter after the game at Camp Nou with some thoughts on both teams and was also critical of Real coach Julen Lopetegui following his side’s tepid first-half display.

“If you’re going to die at Camp Nou, do it with your setup from the second half. Sad, Lopetegui,” he wrote,

The 30-year-old went on to praise his former club as he wrote: “Solid and lethal Barca. Without Messi, but with [Luis] Suarez and [Jordi] Alba colossal.”

And he finished with a reflection on Madrid president Perez.

“Is Florentino aware?” he asked. “In four months, he has destroyed the Spanish national team and the best Madrid in history.”

Julen Lopetegui will be sacked today with Antonio Conte set to named club’s new manager
