Florence And The Machine are to release their first studio album in three years on Halloween named Everybody Scream.
The Florence Welch-fronted indie pop group, whose last album Dance Fever was released in May 2022, will release their sixth album on record, CD and cassette as well as on streaming on October 31.
It comes after Welch, 38, teased new music by posting a video on her personal Instagram account of herself digging a hole before looking down and screaming into it, and a video of herself walking across a field.
The new album was announced with a picture of its cover posted to Instagram, which shows Welch reclining in a black-and-white outfit, and is currently available for pre-order.
The band’s last record reached number one on the UK albums chart, and they also released the live album Symphony Of Lungs, recorded at the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall with Jules Buckley and his Orchestra, in 2024.
Dance Fever featured the singles King, My Love and Free.
Last year, Camberwell-born Welch joined Taylor Swift on stage at Wembley Stadium during the US pop star’s Eras Tour to perform their collaboration Florida!!!, with Swift describing the moment as “unforgettable”.
The pair are long-term friends.
Beginning their career in 2007, Florence And The Machine have had four UK number one albums in Lungs (2009), Ceremonials (2011), How Big How Blue How Beautiful (2015), and Dance Fever, as well as two UK number one singles.
The band are best known for songs such as Dog Days Are Over, You Got The Love and Shake It Out.
Florence And The Machine, who were formed in London, are currently completed by Isabella Summers, Robert Ackroyd, Tom Monger, Cyrus Bayandor, Aku Orraca-Tetteh, Dionne Douglas, and Loren Humphrey.
The band have not toured since 2023.
