Floral tributes to 'happiest soul' who died in early morning crash

Floral tributes have been left to a man who died in a crash.

Merseyside Police confirmed emergency services were called to the scene of a car crash involving a Renault Megane on Scafell Road in St Helens at around 2am on August 11. A man who has been named as Jordan Yates died a short time later.

Floral tributes and cards have now been left at the scene on Scafell Road in memory of Jordan. One message said: "Jordan, the happiest soul, the party man and all round amazing person!

"It's hurt the town the news of you passing, especially the hearts of us in the Duke. We will miss your questionable dance moves, your infectious laugh and most of all your presence.

"Shine on forever in peace. Fly high Jordan, until we dance again." Another tribute said: "Rest in peace Jordan. Loved so much." Flowers, balloons, banners, candles a bottle of beer and WKD were also left at the scene in memory of the young dad.

Detective Sergeant Kurt Timpson from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit said: “Our thoughts and condolences go out to the family of the man who sadly lost his life this morning. They are being supported by our specially trained liaison officers while the investigation commences.

“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident or properties in the area that may have CCTV or doorbell footage to please contact us.”
