Bluebell Gadsby; second eldest, filmmaker/director, writer and ordinary person born into a very strange family. Firstly, mum is keeping secrets from the family, Dad is 'liberating' the pets, the au pair has a mysterious new student and the eldest Gadsby sister, Flora, has fallen desperately in love.
Along with Jasmine's secret talents and Bluebell's own troubles, Zoran's new student, Zach, wouldn't expect to be greeted by wild kittens and people screaming because they'd just heard life-changing news. Along with her troublesome family, surprising romance, internet accidents and great escapes, life has never been more different for the Gadsby family.
The diary of Bluebell Gadsby is original, hilarious and a un-putdown-able read. From page one you melt straight in and feel as though you are Bluebell. The Gadsby family is made up of strong, vivid characters that have the perfect quantity of problems to make it fun and exciting.
Natasha Farrant has created one of those families we dream we were born into. What's more, her style stands out as she cleverly and creatively uses script and diary format throughout the novel. I recommend this for ages 10 and up.
