Flooding in Swansea submerges car and closes road

Heavy rain and flooding has closed a Swansea road after a car was submerged in water.

The heavy downpour began on Sunday morning and continued into the afternoon causing problems across the city.

In Morriston a car became submerged in flood water along Pant Lasau Road, prompting police to close the road.

Officers warned that the road would remain closed for some time.

"Please be aware that Pant Lasau Road is currently closed and will be for some time."

Gower has also experienced significant flooding, as the A4118, near archery and falconry centre Perriswood, was also closed in both directions.

Drivers were advised to "approach with care" as the heavy rainfall had affected the stretch of road between the Greenway Park turn-off and Nicholaston, with traffic being impacted between Scurlage and Parkmill.
