Flooding has forced the closure of Maryhill Road in both directions - causing havoc for road users travelling to and from the city in North Glasgow.
Several motorists took to social media this morning to warn other drivers about a large area of flooding near to the West of Scotland Science Park - with photos showing cars having to drive onto the lane divider.
And police have now confirmed that they have closed the road in both directions at the request of Glasgow City Council.
A police spokeswomen said: "We were informed about 7.40am this morning that both sides of the road were flooded on Maryhill Road at the Science Centre.
"The council requested that we close the road at 2.50pm. The road has now been closed both ways."
Meanwhile, The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) advise a flood alert is in place in West Central Scotland, warning that: "Heavy and persistent rain is expected to affect the area from late Saturday through until Sunday afternoon.
"Some localised river flooding to low-lying land and roads is likely, this will be accompanied by difficult driving conditions and ponding of water in known trouble spots. Isolated property flooding could also occur."
"With further heavy rain expected again on Monday, SEPA will continue to monitor the situation and further updates will appear here if the situation changes."
