Flood warnings are in place for parts of the North East coast before a rainy November gives way to a drier and colder December.
There are still nine current flood warnings in the UK - meaning flooding is expected and immediate action is required.
The North East areas affected are the North Sea at Roker, Sunderland and the North Sea at Whitley Bay, Cullercoats and Tynemouth.
But November's dismal weather will finally change, with drier and colder conditions coming for the start of December, forecasters have said.
Elsewhere in the UK, Wales, a yellow warning for ice is in place on Friday for the Midlands, East Anglia and the south of northern England.

It will be a cloudy and rather windy morning with outbreaks of rain, locally heavy, sinking southwards. Becoming drier through the afternoon with sunshine developing, although with a few coastal showers still possible. Turning colder through the day. Maximum temperature 9 °C.
Tonight:
A few showers will continue across coastal areas but elsewhere it will be dry with clear spells at times. Colder than of late, with a frost in places. Minimum temperature -1 °C.
Friday:
A few showers will continue across coastal parts but elsewhere it will be dry with plenty of sunshine and mostly light winds. A cold day for most. Maximum temperature 5 °C.
Outlook for Saturday to Monday:
Aside from a few coastal showers, most will be dry and sunny over the weekend. Staying cold, with overnight frost and freezing fog patches. Turning cloudier and breezier by Monday.
