A flood warning has been issued for Glasgow
Thunder and lightning storms are set to hit the west of Scotland with forecasters explaining that heavy showers will develop later today and continue into tomorrow.
According to the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) surface water could pose a risk in built up areas.
A warning on their website explains: "The greatest risk is if these occur over built-up areas and the transport network.
"Possible impacts could include flooding of properties, parts of communities and roads, and disruption to travel and infrastructure.
"Localised flooding of land and roads is also possible from river flooding should heavy showers occur over small or fast responding watercourses."
The Met Office yellow alert comes as temperatures hit 21c in the city today, with muggy conditions making a thunder storm likely.
And according to the BBC, Glaswegians will even see some thunder and lightning between 6pm and 9pm tonight.
The Met Office explains: "Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.
"Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
"Some communities might become cut off if roads flood.
"Power cuts might occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost."
