Flood turns Thai restaurant into unusual attraction

Pa Jit restaurant in Nakhon Pathom, Thailand, has turned a flood into a unique dining experience. Eleven days after the Tha Chin River breached its banks, fish now swim among diners’ feet, drawing crowds eager to watch and photograph the spectacle. Families sit with toddlers playing in the water while staff in waders serve meals across the flooded floor.

Owner Pornkamol Prangprempree says profits have doubled, reaching around $618 per day, compared with $309 before the flood.

The restaurant has been a riverside fixture for more than 30 years and previously flooded in 2019.
