
Cosmos flowers float in glass boxes filled with water during an annual event at Hannyaji temple in Nara. The location is known as the "cosmos temple" because of about 150,000 of the flowers there. The colorful marbles and other objects placed in about 50 glass containers, combined with the red and white flowers that float along the surface of the water, create a fantastic atmosphere. The event runs through the annual cosmos season, which ends in early November.
