FlixBus launches new routes in time for Scotland’s summer holiday

COACH provider FlixBus is launching new routes ahead of Scotland’s summer holiday season.

From June 22, passengers will be able to find overnight journeys from Aberdeen, Dundee, Perth, Dunfermline and Edinburgh to London, as well as Newcastle, Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham and Leicester.

The new route is the only coach service offering passengers a direct route between Aberdeen and London without changing.

A second new service will also begin on the same day between Glasgow and London, connecting Carlisle, Leeds and Sheffield.

Further services will be added too, with more journeys on offer between Aberdeen, Dundee, Dunfermline and Edinburgh; as well as Perth, Stirling and Glasgow.

Scottish NEC holders are able to travel for free on FlixBus’s Scottish network without having to book.

“We all know the Fringe is one of the highlights of the summer, and we’re really excited to offer more transport opportunities as millions of travellers flock to Scotland,” said Andreas Schorling, managing director of FlixBus UK.

“Thanks to huge demand, we’re delighted to increase our green, affordable network fivefold, offering high frequency services to destinations across the country. There’s no better time to explore the lively cities and beautiful landscapes Scotland has to offer!”

The new routes will be operated by the UK’s largest independent bus operator McGill’s, which has been in partnership with FlixBus since 2021.

“We’re really proud to contribute even more to Scotland’s transport infrastructure, because sustainable travel options should be available and accessible to everyone,” Schorling added.
