Flights between Dublin and Iceland cancelled after budget airline WOW AIR collapses

Flights between Dublin and Iceland have been cancelled following the collapse of budget airline WOW AIR.

A 10.45am flight to Kevflavik from Dublin Airport this morning has been axed following the collapse of the company.

The airline went out of business after they failed to secure an equity deal with their investors, RTE reports.

A notice posted on WOW AIR's website reads: "WOW AIR has ceased operation. All WOW AIR flights have been cancelled."

It goes on to advise passengers who have booked flights to check with other airlines who may offer rescue fares, in light of the circumstances.

The company said all affected passengers have been contacted by text or email.
