A plane was forced into making an emergency landing at Shannon Airport due to a "medical issue".
The plane had left from Dublin Airport at around 9.50am on Thursday morning.
The United Airlines flight UA22 was just 90 minutes into its planned journey to Newark Liberty Airport when an emergency was declared.
The New York bound flight landed safely at Shannon at 12.38am.
Spokesman for the airline, Charles Hobart told the Irish Mirror its medical staff provided assistance to customers of the flight which "diverted to Shannon Airport due to a medical issue".
The Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner departed Shannon at 2.23pm and landed in the US at 3.09pm - local time. The spokesman did not confirm the specifics of the medical emergency.
