Flight forced to land at Glasgow Airport after mid-air 'emergency' declared

A flight was this morning forced to land at Glasgow Airport after a mid-air 'emergency'.

TUI flight BY1454, which was due to head for Lanzarote, took off from Edinburgh Airport shortly after 6am. However, around 30 minutes later, at 6.30am, an emergency was declared on-board, as reported on FlightRadar.

After altering course, the plane touched down in Glasgow, safely, shortly after 7am.

Flight stats show the aircraft departing Edinburgh at 6.10am, before landing in Glasgow at 7.06am.

The nature of the emergency is unknown at this stage.
