Flight 'banned' clothing rules that could get you kicked off a plane

Most people don't think much of what they wear on flights, with many of us opting to wear the heaviest clothes we have to save on carry-on space.

However, there are some items of clothing that you cannot wear while travelling - and passengers may find themselves caught out and unable to board their flight due to the little known 'unofficial' dress code rules.

Tn some cases, passengers can be banned from flights if their clothing is deemed inappropriate, even if they weren't aware of the rules beforehand, the Echo reports.

Here are articles clothes that you should avoid when travelling on popular airlines.

Clothing that you cannot wear

While there are no official rules prohibiting certain outfits, passengers have been known to be kicked off flights or not allowed to board because what they are wearing.

That includes clothing that can be deemed obscene and could upset other passengers, so it's best to avoid tops with slogans that could be deemed rude or offensive.

There are other pieces of clothing that may not be allowed to wear on certain airlines too, like flip flops and beachwear, as they can also be deemed inappropriate for flying.

If you are travelling to a country that has specific laws or local customs around clothing, then an airline may also expect passengers to adhere to the rules before boarding.

What you should wear

When you are flying, particularly if it is a long haul flight you will want to remain comfortable.

While there is no official 'dress code' you want to make sure that you appear presentable while keeping comfy, there's no need to overdress, a pair of jeans and a t-shirt is enough.

It may be worth layering as flights can get cold, and if member of cabin crew does ask you to cover up for some reason, you will be able to do so.
