Flight Attendants Mobilize Support After Tragic Midair Collision

The Association of Flight Attendants, a union representing 55,000 flight attendants, issued a statement regarding the tragic midair collision involving PSA Flight 5342 and a military helicopter. The union confirmed that two of its members were crewing the flight at the time of the incident.

In response to the situation, the AFA expressed its commitment to supporting the families and crews directly impacted by the collision. They also extended their gratitude to the first responders who are working tirelessly to bring survivors to safety.

The AFA Employee Assistance Program (EAP) has been activated to provide assistance to all PSA Flight Attendants and individuals affected by the tragedy. Those in need of support can reach out to the AFA EAP at 800-424-2406. The union emphasized that the hotline should only be contacted for assistance and announced plans to establish a separate line for public messages of support.

The union's statement concluded with a call for unity and focus on saving lives in the aftermath of the devastating event.
