Flight attendant shares the best place to sit on a plane if travelling with a toddler

Any parent will know that travelling pretty much anywhere with a toddler comes with its challenges - with any tips to make things run smoother often greatly appreciated.

One flight attendant has now offered some advice to anyone planning on travelling with a little one. Her wisdom could make your next plane journey run that little bit smoother.

Having worked as a cabin service supervisor for eight years, Rebecca Love knows all about flight arrangements and says where you sit can make a big difference on the type of flight you have.

Speaking to MirrorOnline, she said: "If they’re little enough, try and get a bulkhead seat and request a bassinet (one of the cribs that attaches on to the front wall of the cabin).

"This means you can hopefully kick back, sleep, eat and watch a few films without the worry of disturbing your little one.

"Window seats if possible are always a good idea, as they provide a nice distraction and can also offer soothing views for when trying to get toddlers to sleep.

"It is always worth sitting near to toilets too, as children tend to have a habit of going more frequently when flying so saves having to make any mad dashes."

And, for those parents worrying that their little one never keeps still so is unlikely to stay in their seat Rebecca has advice for this situation too.

She added: "Parents should not be scared of letting your little one walk up and down the aisles and even down to the back galleys (once we have completed main services and heavy carts have been put away of course!)

"A change of scenery can quite often make a toddler a little bit happier if they’re getting restless in their seat."
