Flight attendant who passed out in her seat was five times over the limit

A flight attendant has been sacked and faces charges after passengers reported she was drunk on a flight.

One posted a video on Twitter showing Julianne March, 49, slumped down in her seat on a flight to South Bend, Indiana.

When she arrived she was unable to tell officers what city she was in, and was found to be five times over the legal limit for flight attendants.

Passenger Aaron Scherb told ABC News that March - the only attendant onboard - was acting "odd".

She didn't do a security announcement or secure the cabin, and did not make eye contact with anyone getting on the plane.

The United Airlines flight was operated by Air Wisconsin.

After the experience Mr Scherb said he was offered a $500 voucher, but responded: "Given that the safety and well-being of all 50 passengers on that flight was jeopardized, I find United's response to be insufficient."

Another person on the flight, identified as Dan, said she failed to answer the phone near her jump seat.

A spokesman for Air Wisconsin said: "The Flight Attendant involved in this incident is no longer an employee of the company.

"We will continue to cooperate with local authorities and assist them as necessary."

She is due in court on August 29 to answer a criminal public intoxication charge.
