Flight attendant's mortifying mistake after leaving very personal item at hotel

We've all been there.

You check out of your hotel and head to the airport, but while you're waiting patiently for your flight, you suddenly realise that you've left something behind - and it's too late to go back for it.

Usually it's something insignificant, like a toothbrush or a bottle of shower gel.

But sometimes it's something a little more important - and if you're particularly unlucky, it can even be something rather embarrassing.

One flight attendant was recently left red faced after a hotel got in touch with the airline to reveal that a member of the cabin crew had left a rather personal item in their room.

The message from the hotel has since been shared on Facebook in a post on A Fly Guy's Cabin Crew Lounge.

The note reveals that the crew member had forgotten a sex toy when they checked out - and to add insult to injury, the hotel staff even went as far as to measure the item, to help the flight attendant recognise it as their own.

It reads: "Hi from crew-watch... We just received a call from the hotel in man. They found a 25cm dildo in one of the crew rooms.

"Can you let them know it can be collected at OPS later."

The photo of the note was captioned: "Ok who left their toys behind in Manchester?"

It garnered more than 3,000 likes and hundreds of comments and shares, with many people amused by the whole thing.

One person replied: "They even measured it."

Another said: "Lost and found is such a fun job!"

A third added that it was a "modern day love story".
