Flight attendant reveals top five mistakes passengers make that annoy cabin crew

A cabin crew worker has shared the top five things she believes passengers should never do on a plane.

Deanna Castro, a flight attendant with 16 years of service under her belt, shared mistakes many of us are liable to make while onboard an aircraft.

She noted that one of the forbidden actions typically occurs when you board the plane.

Deanna told InsideHook: “When boarding, it’s polite to step into your row and allow other passengers to pass behind you. It’s okay to take a few extra minutes to get ready, but please step into the aisle and wait for a lull in traffic."

Another top tip Denna offered is to do with limbs and keeping them tucked away.

She continued: “Moving out of the way also extends to mid-flight when you are sitting in your seat - and don't spread out into the aisle.

“When you are dangling body parts into the aisle, flight attendants can trip and get hurt. Not only that, but you could get hurt — especially from a cart.”

And, she claims you should take out headphones when you’re speaking to the flight crew.

Deanna claims it’s impolite to wear headphones when the staff reaches your row – and that listening to loud music is rude to those seated around you.

The flight attendant also noted that you shouldn’t hand sick bags to the crew.

She said: “Place it under your seat.

"We can give you an extra bag to wrap it up in, but please don’t push that hot steaming bag of vomit into a flight attendant’s hands."

Another key tip to make sure things run as smoothly as possible is stowing all carry-on items and flipping up your table ahead of take-off, so flight attendants can do their checks swiftly.
