- Solange Tremblay was onboard Air Canada Jazz flight 8646 from Montreal to LaGuardia on March 22 when the plane slammed into a fire truck on the runway. Two pilots were killed and Tremblay was flung 320 feet from the plane.
- Tremblay suffered serious injuries including two shattered legs requiring multiple surgeries and metal plates, a fractured spine, and severe skin damage needing grafts, with a significant risk of infection. She also needed a blood transfusion due to a complication during her first surgery.
- Her daughter, Sarah Lepine, has launched a GoFundMe page, which has raised nearly $140,000 toward a $160,000 target for her extensive recovery and rehabilitation.
- The crash, the most serious incident at LaGuardia in decades and the first fatal one in 30 years, is currently under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board.
