Flight attendant explains how to use a shoe to prevent leaving your passport behind

Hotel room safes are incredibly useful for keeping your valuables tucked away, well, safely.

Especially your passport. Seriously, no one wants to misplace that or have it stolen.

But safes, by their very nature, are nicely hidden away and discreet, which means they can sometimes be easy to forget.

Checking out of a hotel or holiday home can often be chaotic - no matter how organised you've tried to be and this means that it's sometimes easy to forget the valuables or documents you've squirrelled away.

So to avoid leaving these behind, one seasoned traveller has come up with a great trick.

British Airways flight attendant Ty Opoku Adjei has revealed that passports left in the safe of a hotel room are a common occurrence than people realise, and shared her tip with Business Insider.

"My top tip is to keep one of your shoes you plan to wear on your journey home in the safe," she told the publication.

"If you do this, you'll never leave the hotel room without checking the safe ever again...as long as you don’t forget where you put your shoe, of course!"

So what do you reckon? Would this work, or would you just end up forgetting your shoe too?
