A flight attendant has explained exactly what the chime sounds you hear on a plane actually mean when travelling.
Tommy Cimato, a cabin crew member, shares some of the best kept secrets of the skies to his 416,000 Tik Tok followers.
He recently revealed what the 'chime' or 'ding' sounds mean overhead during a flight.
The flight attendant says sound is actually one of three noises that flight attendants use to understand what's happening on the plane.
He warned one particular chime is only used for emergencies.
For a chime with two rings, he said: "A high low chime like that means one flight attendant is calling the other flight attendant or the flight deck is trying to call us."
He went on to explain exactly what you'll hear during an in-flight emergency.
"If you hear three of those, that means it’s an emergency but you’ll never have to hear that," he said.
"If you hear just one tone, that means a passenger is calling one of the flight attendants from their seat or they could be calling us from the lavatory."
Tommy recently game some friendly advice on five health and hygiene tips for airline passengers.
The flight attendant's top pointers for travellers include how to avoid germs in the bathroom, why you must stay hydrated and what to do if you feel sick.
He revealed why you should avoid sleeping against the window - or even wear shorts - because of said germs.
