DALLAS _ Fliers titled "Why white women shouldn't date black men" were reportedly found at several places on the Southern Methodist University campus in Dallas recently.
The Daily Campus student paper reports that the racist fliers were found at the Armstrong Residential Commons dorms and KXAS-TV (NBC5) reports that they were found at the Dedman Life Sciences Building.
They feature photos of black men and blonde, white women with phrases, including "He's much more likely to abuse you," "he's much more likely to have STDs" and "Your kids probably won't be smart."
The university issued a statement Tuesday afternoon that said it condemns the racist and hateful message in the fliers.
"These messages have no place at SMU and are in opposition to SMU's values and commitment to an environment free from discrimination," the statement said.
The end of the flier says "Take the Red Pill and meet the Alt-Right at RadixJournal.com. Brought to you by Unamusement Park."
The Southern Poverty Law Center describes the Alt-Right as those with the core belief "that 'white identity' is under attack by multicultural forces using 'political correctness' and 'social justice' to undermine white people and 'their' civilization."
Richard Spencer, a white nationalist who attended St. Mark's School in North Dallas, is editor of Radix Journal, which is promoted on the print-out.
The Daily Campus and NBC5 reported on the SMU incidents Tuesday morning, though the university said that the fliers were found Sunday night.
Similar print-outs were found at the University of Oklahoma Monday and at the University of Michigan in late September, The Oklahoma Daily, OU's student paper, reports.
Concerned SMU students have met with the school's Office of Multicultural Student Affairs and plan to meet again, according to the university's statement.
The Student Senate executive committee sent an email Tuesday that said the SMU community should come together with respect.
"We are all united; we are all Mustangs," the statement said. "No matter your beliefs or political preferences, we are all human and every student on this campus deserves the best experience during their time here. While we must accept and respect the results of our recent election, we cannot allow injustices to happen on our campus."
