Flickr finds a buyr

There's a lot of talk across the web today about Yahoo's decision to buy out Ludicorp - the makers of the fantastic photo sharing service Flickr. Here's CNet:

Joanna Stevens, a spokeswoman for Sunnyvale, Calif.-based Yahoo, confirmed the deal Sunday but did not disclose the terms.

"We look forward to working with them for their innovation and product development across the Yahoo Network in the coming months," she said.

Stevens said Flickr will remain a standalone site for now. The company's employees, however, will relocate to Sunnyvale later this year.

Jack noted the rumour when he was at ETech last week, and we devoted a large article to Flickr a couple of months ago (and, in fact, this time last year).

Still, it's good to see someone doing well with what is essentially a great, innovative service (and a fantastic use of Flash in a world where there aren't many such examples).
