FlexiSpot's Sit2Go 2-in-1 Fitness Chair seems like an ideal accessory for anyone working from home, especially those who possess a standing desk.
I already use a Flexispot standing desk, and love it, so this chair is a match made in heaven as it doubles up as a fitness bike.
Sit2Go aids circulation, fosters better posture and helps you burn a few calories during office hours.
At the machine’s higher settings, it can even give a boost to your strength and stamina.
You can choose between a range of eight difficulty settings, from a leisurely pedal to the equivalent of an uphill climb.
The latter does not result in much noise – in general it’s a very quiet piece of kit.
I’ve used it while on video calls – on easier settings – and nobody was any the wiser.
Design and build
There are castor wheels on the bottom which lock into place once you sit down so the unit doesn’t move around. Stand up and the wheels roll freely again.
There is also a range of seating heights and positions to suit different leg lengths and workspace heights.
The plastic pedals are designed to be easy on your soles, even if you go barefoot.
The stylish and well-built chair itself is a typical desk seat with a breathable mesh backrest and contoured cushion. It is comfortable but doesn’t offer the level of lumbar support as, for example, the Flexispot BS8.
And there are no arm rests, which means you have to sit much closer to your desk to get arm support so make sure that this does not position your eyes too close to your monitor.
Sit2Go involves some self-assembly and all the tools and parts you need come in the box. It took me about 15 minutes to put it together. Much of the work is done already: I just needed to install the seat, backrest and pedals.
It has a digital readout which displays timer, speed, distance, calories burned, odometer and RPM. The display is powered by two AA batteries but it’s not backlit.
Verdict
My assessment would be that this chair will only suit people who have a standing desk.
I tried using it with a non-adjustable standard height desk and cycling, while not impossible, was difficult.
I would also think that the unit would be a little cramped to use if you are over 6ft tall.
It’s 42cm wide from pedal to pedal, incidentally, and is available in black or white.
In short, FlexiSpot Sit2Go is a comfy office chair attached to a decent fitness bike. It may not suit every home office, but for those with a standing desk or a desk with enough legroom, it’s an excellent piece of kit.
