Flexispot E7 Standing Desk review: Working from home just got a whole lot better

Spending eight or more hours a day hunched behind your desk is not without its serious health consequences.

You are at greater risks of developing a range of chronic conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, colon cancer, muscle weaknesses and obesity.

If you wear a smartwatch, chances are it will remind you once an hour to stand for at least a minute.

You could also try standing while you work, which is not as crazy an idea as it seems. It would be hugely beneficial to alternate your posture during the working day.

Standing desks allow workers to use their IT kit from both standing and sitting positions, with potentially huge health benefits.

I’ve been testing the Flexispot E7 Standing Desk, a motorised, sit-stand, adjustable height desk that is available with an array of different sized and styled desktop options to accompany it.

The dual motors which raise and lower the desk (not silently but not too loud) are super powerful.

They have to be to lift a mahogany desktop on which a MacBook Pro, monitor, iPad Pro and two speakers sit.

The maximum weight capacity is an impressive 125kg.

E7 moves from sitting to standing height and back again with ease, all controlled by an easy-to-reach box attached to the underside of the desktop.

That control panel allows you to set your preferred heights, so that the transition from sitting to standing is just a matter of pressing one button. There are four programmable presets.

You can also manually adjust the height offered from 60.5cm to 126cm.

There’s an anti-collision mechanism that prevents any damage anything or anyone while it’s moving.

There is also an easily activated child lock built-in, which will be handy for parents with small kids.

Flexispot E7 a self-assembly piece of kit, but it’s super easy to put together and took me little more than a half an hour.

And you can tuck all the cables and wires within the frame to keep your desk neat and tidy.

The stylish and sturdy E7 is crafted from robust, premium materials that will last and is worth every cent for its functionality, comfort and health benefits.

Standing while working is tiring for the first couple of days but I soon enjoyed it.

This is the future of working from home.
