AKRON, Ohio _ Ian Poulter, Tommy Fleetwood and Justin Thomas are tied atop the leaderboard following the conclusion of the second round of the 2018 WGC-Bridgestone Invitational at Firestone County Club on Friday.
All three golfers are at 11-under-par through two days in Akron on the South Course.
Fleetwood put together the best score of the morning wave of golfers with 7-under-par 63 on Friday, and Thomas carded a 6-under-par 64.
Poulter, who shot a 62 on Thursday, posted a 67 on Friday.
Kyle Stanley of the United States and Jason Day of Australia are tied for fourth at 9-under. Day shot a 66 on Friday and Stanley shot a 68.
South Korea's Si Woo Kim and Northern Ireland's Rory McIlroy are tied for sixth at 8-under. McIlroy carded a 67 Friday and Kim posted a 68.
Haotong Li of China shot a 67 Friday and is tied for eight place at 7-under with Luke List of the United States. List fired a 68 Friday.
Eight-time Firestone champion Tiger Woods is in a group of seven golfers that are tied for 10th and five shots off the pace. The other six golfers at 6-under are Spain's Jon Rahm, Australia's Marc Leishman, South Africa's Louis Oosthuizen and Americans Tony Finau and Webb Simpson.
England's Fleetwood started the second round on the back nine and made birdies on Nos. 11, 13 and 16. He added birdies on Nos. 1, 2, 5 and 7 on the front nine.
Thomas, an American, also started the second round on the back nine with birdies on Nos. 10 and 11, and a bogey on No. 16. His front nine included birdies on Nos. 2, 3, 5, 6 and 8.
Poulter, of England, started his Friday on the front nine and made birdies on Nos. 3 and 8. His back nine featured birdies on No. 11, 14 and 16 and bogies on Nos. 12 and 15.
