Fleet Valley Care Home resident raises more than £1,000 for Ukraine

A resident at Fleet Valley Care Home in Gatehouse has helped raise more than £1,000 for Ukraine.

After watching the news, Brenda Buckley contacted the Dnipro Kids charity to see how she could help.

Since then, she has organised a sponsored walk and a beard trim. She also held a raffle for a hamper, which the winner generously donated to the Stepping Stones foodbank in Castle Douglas.

And that has resulted in the fantastic sum of £1,045 being raised so far. Anyone who would like to support Brenda’s efforts can do so at www.justgiving.com/fundraising/brenda-dniprokids
