Fleck, Stones, Rodriguez - The five players Arsenal are tipped to sign on transfer deadline day

Arsenal have already completed Mikel Arteta's first signing in the form of Pablo Mari from Flamengo and look set to make at least one more move.

A deal for Southampton defender Cedric Soares, who is in the final six months of his contract on the South Coast, is poised to be completed before Friday's transfer deadline.

Arteta was also thought to be keen on adding another central midfielder to his ranks to compete with Granit Xhaka, Lucas Torreira and Matteo Guendouzi.

With at least one Deadline Day arrival on the horizon, bookmakers  Sport Nation have revealed who they are tipping Arsenal to sign before the end of the transfer window.

Art de Roche on the state of play

Cedric Soares - betting suspended

The Bookmakers are no longer taking money on Cedric Soares' expected move to Arsenal, underlining their certainty that a deal will get over the line.

The out-of-contract Southampton right-back looks set to arrive at the Emirates to provide cover and competition for Hector Bellerin, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles expected to move in to midfield.

With 28-year-old looks likely to prove a shrewd signing, given his pedigree and the nominal loan fee Arsenal will have to pay.

John Fleck - 9/1

Arsenal have been linked with adding a midfielder to their ranks throughout the January transfer window.

Sheffield United midfielder John Fleck has been linked with a move to the Emirates after impressing in his debut Premier League season.

However, with the Blades likely to demand over £20million for a key member of their squad, he is priced at 9/1 to make the Deadline Day move.

James Rodriguez - 14/1

James Rodriguez had looked like he would be on his way out of Real Madrid this month, with reports claim Arsenal are believed to be trying to sign him on loan.

The Colombian playmaker is out of favour with Zinedine Zidane, having made only seven La Liga appearances this season.

However, given his hefty wages and the unlikelihood of Real sanctioning a loan move, he is now priced out at 14/1.

John Stones - 15/1

John Stones' long-term future remains uncertain at Manchester City and having worked under Arteta previously, he has been linked with Arsenal.

However, a deal would be hard to pull off with the Premier League champions unlikely to want to lose a centre-back, although Stones is clearly suffering from a crisis in confidence.

Whilst Stones has all the attributes Arteta values in a defender, the Arsenal boss poured cold water on a potential deal, which is shown in the fact Arsenal are 15/1 now to sign him.

Dayot Upamecano - 18/1

Dayot Upamecano remains one of Arsenal's long-term transfer targets, according to reports.

However, with RB Leipzig flying at the top of the Bundesliga, that makes a January deal even tougher to finalise, plus he would also cost a significant fee.

Arsenal, though, remain heavily linked with the 21-year-old and are priced at 18/1 for a Deadline Day swoop.
